Whats up with Vintage Cosmo?

First off let me introduce myself, my name is Jim and I live in Pensacola, FL. I've been lurking here for a while but never posted. I've got a couple of projects in the works, cl/cb 360 and a cb 750, I'll post pics later.

The reason that I'm asking about Vintage Cosmo is that their Ebay auctions are gone, no answer to email, and their phone is disconnected. I bought one of his seats on 6/27, paid with Paypal and have heard nothing. He had stated in his ad. that shipping could take up to 20 days (ridicules) so I wasn't real concerned until I started doing a little research.

I know my next step is to start dealing with Ebay and Paypal. I was just wondering if anyone on the board has had any dealings with them latley. The last completed auction that I can find for them was on 6/8 and they have received several feedbacks just yesterday.

If anybody has any info I would sure appreciate it.

Jim

hey, yeah i'm in the exact same boat. i bought a seat on june 26 and they have not been returning my emails. i didnt try calling them yet but now i'm concerned if the phone lines are disconnected. do you know if they have an actual store? maybe someone who lives in the area or is going that way soon would wanna pop by their store and see if they're still open!

I just got some Tommeselli headlight ears from him a couple of weeks ago... purchased them with BIN on ebay. It took over 3 weeks to get them but they did eventually come. Its not that the shipping was slow... they came only 3-4days after I got the email telling me they shipped... its just that he didn't ship them for 3weeks.

I won't buy from him again...

I think they had a change recently... there has been a mix of items with the layout that has been in use for a while and recently a new simpler set-up mentioning the loss of the person who was the main web guy. I think they started to have problems, cut staff, and now possibly finally crapped out.

I have bought from them in the past and had nothing but success with them. It's too bad they seem to have slipped. Always meant to get this or that from them... guess I won't now.

I guess being that yesterday was the 20th day after the auction I'll give them the benifit of the doubt and give it a few more days.

Don't wait another minute - register your dispute with eBay and PayPal immediately. If you wait too long your forfeight any support from them. It's no big deal to register the dispute and until it's resolved, it doesn't count as negative against them.

Made that mistake on my turn signals... sent them an e-mail on the 45th day (!!!!) and they said they had till the 60th...

60th day came around and I couldn't get to a computer so I sent them an e-mail on the 61st and got no reply... :-\

This wasn't vintage cosmo mind you... but buggers nontheless.

i think chris got that nice duc tank from them...

too bad they are AWOL, they had alot of nice rearsets and clipons

Hey man, I work at Gulf Shores Powersports, so if you ever need a hand with anything, or want to ride sometime let me know. Took over a month to get my seat from them, so it may still show up

Hey Chip
GSPS is where I bought my Roadstar, much better deal then I could get in P'cola. I'm going to give them through this week and see what happens.

Believe it or not, my seat showed up today. It took 43 days and action through Paypal. I've been doing Ebay for 10 years and have never seen such a sorry operation.

No response to email, phone off, I even talked to the guy at Cosmopolition Motors "Joe's off to Mid-Ohio, I'll tell him when he gets back. His phone is off only because he didn't pay the bill." No shit??

It's the last time I'll do buisness with this retard.

But I do like the seat!

Jim

Mine took a long time to arrive, but for what I paid for it, it was worth the wait

Glad to hear you finally got the seat., but it's sad some sellers are so pathetic. These are the ones that give eBay a bad name to some. I've been using eBay for years and only had one bad experience, most sellers are pretty good.

I agree 100%. I've bought a lot of stuff and I've sold a lot, I enjoy Ebay. When I sell I do my best to get the item in the mail the day after it's paid for.

Oh well, it all worked out.
