Not only am I a wrencher, but I'm also a brewer.....not professionally. So, what is your favorite beer?
I don't really have a favorite, I really just like to try beers I've never had before. I guess my favorite is the one I haven't had yet. Right now I am drinking a Terrapin "Wake and Bake". For those not in the South, Terrapin is based out of Athens Georgia and the "Wake and Bake" is an Oatmeal Imperial Stout brewed with Jittery Joe's Coffee. Yummmmm.
My favorite beer is always FREE BEER. ;D If I can't have that, then I'll go with Magic Hat #9, Blue Moon (LOVE the summer brew) Dead Guy Rogue, and a few others that escape my fading memory. I've drank alot of beer in my life..... fading memory....... coincidence?
Free is my favorite of course, and I have never had a bad beer, just better ones ;D
My favorite when spending my own money, "Fire Chief's Red Ale" brewed right here in Moncton NB by the Pumphouse Brewery. Owner is a semi retired Fire fighter and has sold most of the Micro Breweries their brewery equipment all across Canada and USA.
If you like beer and come this way you got to try it
Hoegaarden, Sweetwater Hummer, Red Brick Blonde, Dogfishhead 60 min IPA, Ommegang Three Philosophers and most of Sam Adam's beers....to name a few. I'll probably think of some more.
Here is the label for a red wheat beer I made for our company picnic last summer. It was so good I made 10 more gallons a few weeks ago. Can't wait until that is ready.
I must say I love several brews
New England Brewing company "Imperial stout" they put the brew into old burbon barrels to ferment and when it's poured you get all the great flavors of burbon along with a wonderful stout.
Wachussett brewery in Massachussets makes a blueberry ale in the summer nothing beats it.
Southhampton brewery in north fork of Long Island makes Scotch ale. 15.8% etoh made with a single malt scotch.
but my favorite stout no matter who makes it is a "milk stout". if you have never had it you start with lactose and dectrose surgars add that to the yeast and you get the easiest drinking beer you have ever had almost a beer milkshake.
why waste the roon filling up on beer brink burbon single barrel buffalo trace or four roses.
If i have extra coin (which i usually dont) i gotta go with anchor steam from san fransisco.
If im broke (which i usually am, damn motorcycle....) theres only one beer for me. $15 for 30 cans...... PBR me ASAP......
I'm partial to wheat beers, namely Hefeweizen. When I lived in Texas I was drinking a lot of Shiner Hefeweizen along with some Pyramid brews. I Also enjoyed New Belgium's Fat Tire Ale immensely. Unfortunately I can't get any of that good stuff up here. Now it's mostly Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Redhook ESB, or in the summer, Sam Adams Summer. There's too many other great beers to list.
Well in the summer I really got into the wheat beers and I was drinking a lot of Hoegarden and brewed some of my own Fauxgarden. But recently I learned that Ales sit better in my stomach the next day so I have been drinking all different kinds. Tetley and Swithwicks are 2 of my favorites. Also the Budweiser American ale is very good for $6. But I mainly have been drinking the Irish and English ales.
