When eliminating the kill switch...

I did a bit of searching around the site and came up with a few answers close to what i was looking for but none exact.

So, my question is, when eliminating the kill switch (76' cb360), do you then have to jump the kill switch' wiring as well (to put in constant run position) ?

Thanks from a newb.

on my 350 i just took the wire running from the switch to the ignition and hooked it up to the key. easy as pie, so long as you have one of them thar volt thingies...

Thanks for the reply, is that necessary since the ignition essentially acts as a kill switch as well?

Well yeah cus your gonna need to power your coils somehow. The kill switch basically just sits in between your battery, key switch, and coils. So when you turn the key but the kill switch is set "to kill" there isnt any power running to the coils. so if you just take it right out the equation your gonna need to close the loop as it were. do you have a wiring diagram? they are pretty easy to find. Seach this site and if no luck then just google that shit.

Also I think anything called a "kill switch" should be hooked up to some sort of grenade launcher rather then the ignition. For those time when a dummy in their cage cuts you off. :D

You really don't want to do that. A kill switch is rarely used and the day you do need, it may just save your bike or worse.

leave it alone or if you have to swap out the throttle assembly, get a simple ATV kill switch.

I agree,
The only reason I did it on my 350 was cus the switch itself was snafued and I just wanted to hear it run. I use the kill switch on my 650 every day, so I can coast into my parking lot without pissing of my neighbores!

Thanks pro, much easier to understand and realize why it should be wired to the ignition, any tips on what color wires to connect it to? As far as a diagram, I have the back of a chiltons and clymers, they should work for these wiring purposes, correct?

I sent you a PM Simex, but if anyone else can respond any quicker, I am curious where exactly to tie in the removed kill switch wiring. ProSimex informed me it will go into the ignition wiring, but any pictures, or in depth instructions would be appreciated.
