This is my first post, and first and foremost this is an awesome forum and im looking forward to learning alot here.

2nd, it seems that if you have a 4cyl honda or mainly bigger bikes, it is not very difficult to find Cafe parts.

However if you have a 1975 CB125S finding any direct bolt on pieces like seats and tanks is impossible.

Is this so, or am i just looking in the wrong places ?

Thanks.

The best thing to do if you can't find bolt on replacements is to

a) find something close and make it fit,

b) make something that will fit,

c) find someone to do one of the above.

There are a lot of bikes out there of all sorts of capacities, some well supported, others less so. Even the well supported ones have issues and holes in the parts stream.

What sort of stuff are you looking for?

cross reference parts with other bikes. A manufacturer is not going to produce one part for one bike. An example is the pistons for my wife's sr250 is pricy if I buy it specifically for her bike, however a check with a place like http:/www.cmsnl.com reveals that a piston from a xs650 shares the same part file and it's cheaper because there a more out there.

Good Luck

Im going to be looking for parts like a Cafe style tank, seat, clip ons, bar end mirrors and smaller turn signals, 6v ?

Seems everything is made for the bigger bikes and has be be choped up and made to work.

If thats what has to be done then i will go that route, but if someone is already making these parts i would rather purchase.

We love smaller bikes - redid a 100cc G3, working on a CD175, have a 90cc Kaw, a 100cc Hodaka and a 55cc Honda in storage, all waiting rebuild / modification.
Stuff like brake cables, etc, shouldn't be that hard to find unless you have a real oddball bike and as far as cafe parts for small bikes, we probably have 3 or 4 seats, a couple of fenders and a nosebowl or 2 that would work on a smaller bike.
Like a previous post said, you're probably looking at more fabrication than say if you owned a CB350, RD400 or CB750 Honda.
I think it's a chicken and egg thing, partly, with the small bikes. There aren't that many people building aftermarket parts for the little bikes - especially in North America, due to simple economics - not many guys cafe out a little bike. Figure out the cost of a cafe seat, fender(s) and fairing - never mind a tank. Put them on your CB125 and you've probably got more in fiberglass than you have in your bike and when you go to sell it, you'll not get a huge amount more for your bike than if was stock.
Your little CB is a great bike and nearly indestructable - my sister had one and she couldn't wreck it LOL, which is a testament to the durability of these things.
Good luck on your project and drop us a line if we can help you out.
