there are many websited out there and was wondering if anyone had any clue where to find everything i need to rebuild my 71 cl350 engine.

Need in terms of what? Tools? Parts? Or are you looking for more of a detailed breakdown of the steps? Have a look through this thread for a look at a rebuild of a SL350 engine (pretty much the same as your CL).

well mainly gaskets and rubber pieces, that sorta thing. but if there are specialty needed then i guess id like to know where i could find those as well. i know some stuff does pop up on ebay but personally dont like ebay. and thank you, ill check the thread out.

Yup,
Check that thread out.
OEM you can get from any honda dealer, bike bandit, ron ayers, etc

I try to get all the engine parts from the dealer if possible. Prices are still good and don't have to pay for shipping, plus they are a known quality. Not always possible though depending on the part.

so i think i just need to read that thread and buy a manual. my bike isnt running because i cant get it out of 2nd gear so since its down i figured i better just totally rebuild it so im confident about the integrity of it all. i want to redo the whole bike because ever since i got it somewhat ride able, stuff here and there has gone wrong and i expected that. the only problem right now is that the amount of passion to get this running and riding is not equal with the money i have to spend on it right now. but ill take pictures and notes in another thread once im started.

Start with a Factory Service Manual. And where possible add an aftermarket manual too to cover anything the FSM may have missed.

Clean the external surfaces and drain the oil first and take lots of pictures and notes and put parts into ziplock bags and label them all.

Even a FSM will not tell you how to fix that "stuck in second gear" problem, so you will have to check things very carefully at every step of teh way to work out what is wrong. Take your time and ask lots of questions (with pictures if possible).

I hate to ask but where would I find an aftermarket manual? I just looked for one and the search was just crowded with results for "aftermarket parts".

That's because you were supposed to search for a "factory shop manual"
Even the clymers manual will do
