Where in the UK are you ?

Hi From me, here sunny Warrington, NW england ;)

Currently building a Moto Guzzi CR based on a Cali 3 and a Norton/Ironhead XL1000 CR using a Norley frame, and drinking lots of tea :)

Here are a fewpics of some of my bikes..

Guzzi Cali 3 work in progress

The Norley Ironhead..

My 81 Ducati MHR, restored it about 15 years ago..

78 Desmo SS900, sold it a couple of years ago, just before prices went mad..

93 Ducati 888 SP4 rep

Got a couple more projects too, but they're a drag bike and a custom big inch HD.

Hey Bevel welcome to site, whereabouts in Warrington are you, I'm originally from Croft now live in Swinton but do all my work from a place I rent on a farm in Newton.
Nice collection Italians you have there.

Welcome Miffa, Had many a sun drenched holiday in the Black Country HaHa.
Seen your BSA build, sounds like you have plenty of experience with them.

Small world, I live in Fearnhead, not far from Croft. I'd have more bikes to play with but run out of garage space.. here are a couple more..

A rare Laverda Formula Jota 120 I restored and tweaked a bit, with big bore conversion, race cams, cosworth pistons etc.. this was the last of 7 built

My old Merch 120 CI sprint bike (had Nitrous too :) ) its now been converted into a road bike, owned by a friend..

And finally my 'best' bike, ground up custom, with Merch Performance 131 motor, lots of one of bits and pieces..

If you go here, you can here it being Dyno'd when I made a new exhaust last year, its too loud in the dyno room for the mic to cope lol..

Nice to meet you Dave.

It doesn't seem that long ago that I asked Tim [ the site co-founder ] if we could have a dedicated UK "chapter" [ for want of a better term ].

After a slow start, we are getting quite a number of new UK [ and European ! ] members.

Hopefully that will be translated into interest when we eventually set up a couple of DTT/UK stands throughout next year - and hopefully support from some of you with completed projects.

Good to have you here Graham,

with all due respect to you "youngsters", I'm surprised we haven't had many [ any? ] boys from the day join up in the UK. That would make them in their 60's at least ! Maybe like me [ approaching my 3 score and ten ], they are not computer / Interweb savvy.

However, I am pleased that there are some fantastic "young" builders out there ready to carry on the tradition in their own way [ and some of the old ways ].

What is clear is the enthusiasm for our chosen hobby translating into some fantastic rides - keep the faith and become the "old farts" of the future.

I like the idea of the "gap" Graham - I guess we all do that when the mortgage, 2 1/2 kids dog, job / career takes over for a while.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Three weeks into my CB250n budget build and still going to plan, Frame de-cluttered, major components painted, engine painted, battery and service items have arrived, air filters and jets on order, carbs striped and cleaned. Still to decide on seat, gauges, headlamp, indicators, tank colours. As I have already said this is to be my sons daily ride, so not a show bike and I want to keep it true to its age. Our first build so all suggestions welcome.

Afternoon all

As you can guess from the name I'm originally from just out of Christchurch, New Zealand but moved over the the UK about 14 years ago (for the good weather) ;)
Currently living in Northern Hampshire and own a 1998 Triumph Trident 750 which has only done 8500 miles as well as a 91 Honda CB 750 Nighthawk which is in the process of being turned into a cafe racer. Previously had all the fast and trendy modern bikes like a 2011 Speed Triple and 09 Fireblade but enjoy riding the older bikes much more.

My 98 Trident, still got to powder coat the wheels and then will be happy with it

91 Nighthawk, just waiting for a donor tank from a CX500 to arrive and to source a decent seat and I'll be ready to make a start on the welding

Cheers
