Where in Toronto should I g to get my bike certified?

Kelevra chillin' in the sidecar of my 73 CB350G
Hi All,

I need to get my newly acquired 1973 Honda CB350 certified in Ontario. If bikes are anything like cars, some shops will be more nit picky than others. Now I certainly don't want to sacrifice safety in any way, but don't want to be taken for a ride either. Can anyone recommend a shop in Toronto or the GTA that they'd trust a newbie to?

Thanks,
Christopher

Where in Toronto? Cyclewerx out by High Park is good, and deals with older bikes, but they're pretty picky (I had my BMW saftied there and they went over it with a fine toothed comb).

109 Cycle is in the East end (Warden) - I've had work done there but don't know if they do inspections.

Do a run-down on what works/doesn't work on the bike. If it's in good shape and meets basic checks, then it should be good to go. Off the top of my head:

All lights have to work - singnals, hi/lo beam, rear running light, brake light (activated both by hand lever and foot lever)
Horn has to work
Gauges have to light up as designed
Fenders have to be in place
Chainguard has to be in place
Steering head needs to be pretty smooth and not loose
Brakes need to be working - not sticky, mushy or ineffective
Tires need to be in good shape - not new, but not cracked old rubber
Spokes should be in decent shape and not loose
License plate needs to be illuminated as per design

I did mine at CDN Tire wasn't too bad, make sure the bike is ready to go though, no broken switches, rubber missing from levers etc.

I got my cb350G certified at Rosey Toes Motorcycles. I think it was $80. Not too picky and very honest.

Rubber missing from levers? I didn't even think Crappy Tire cert'd motorcycles.

Well there you go! Now, what else do you need to do to license a bike purchased from the US? Maybe you answered in the other thread, but it would be good to know what you had to do at the border - anything you had to do in advance of your trip?
