Practically any option would work depending on the skill if the craftsman doing the job. TIG or MIG would be fine. A skilled man would have little or no distortion problems gas welding it. Soldering would be fine too, though structurally, lead would be a poor choice. Ok to seal leaks though. The one thing left out here (unless I missed it) is the critical importance of sequence if welding and soldering are both to be used. Once you solder, forget about welding. The solder will contaminate the weld and must be completely mechanically removed by grinding etc. to make welding possible. And removal is often impossible for practical purposes, so be absolutely certain you will not be doing any more welding once you solder. Also, unless you are pretty skilled with soldering (at least with bronze) you will probably have nearly the same distortion problems as with welding. If it was me, I would MIG weld it, test it, and re-weld any leaks. I might use TIG depending. I really like silver and bronze, but am very careful on body components. Acid from the flux raises hell with paint, and needs close attention to guarantee removal.
