Stock wiring diagrams show in detail all the factory connections in the harness and where all the wires should go, hardly that complicated if you have the diagram and the harness in your hands at the same time.
Simplified diagrams usually remove the marker light, the gauge lights, possibly the ignition switch, horn, and other so called non-essential circuits. Usually just enough to get the bike running and have a head and tail light. They are also not as detailed as to show how the wires will actually be ran together. There is an outline around the wires in the factory diagram that is to show the actual harness bundle.
