Both images are wireing diagrams for a cb450. The complicated one is from the shop manual. The simple one is from bellico moto. There simplified wireing. What is missing from the simplified version? Why is the oem diagram so much more complicated?

Stock wiring diagrams show in detail all the factory connections in the harness and where all the wires should go, hardly that complicated if you have the diagram and the harness in your hands at the same time.

Simplified diagrams usually remove the marker light, the gauge lights, possibly the ignition switch, horn, and other so called non-essential circuits. Usually just enough to get the bike running and have a head and tail light. They are also not as detailed as to show how the wires will actually be ran together. There is an outline around the wires in the factory diagram that is to show the actual harness bundle.

+1 if Bellico Moto drew the ground wires as the stock wiring shows it too would be more complex. But I think they have suggested frame grounding which is not always the most desirable method. As mentioned above they also haven't included ancillary equipment which is usually required to meet certification requirements. I mean they haven't even shown input leads for neutral or high-beam indicators/switches, so definitely bare bones minimum to run only.
