"Woods" - '73 CB350F

FUCK! got the rectifier in the mail today and was all set to work on the bike tomorrow morning and I LOST MY KEY!!!!!! ive tore my stupid apartment up trying to find the stupid thing. does anyone know how i can hotwire the bike so i can atleast find out if this rectifier fixes my problem? im assuming no one local will carry ignitions.,..

Re: "Woods" - '73 CB350F (Not charging/new photo)

Luckily I have a CB750 in pieces so I grabbed the ignition from that and threw it on the 350. Installed the new rectifier, charged the battery and put the bike back together. Started it and hoped to see the highlight get brighter as I reved the engine (forgot multimeter at work). Unfortunately this didn't happen and the battery still isn't charging. I did take a few laps around the neighborhood for fun though.

Here is how she sits (forgot seatpad)

Must have found your key?
If it runs as good as it looks you are golden!
Actually still haven't found it. I pulled the ignition off a parts bike I have. It runs good for about 10 mins, as I can't ride it any longer because the battery dies. I should have it sorted out this weekend so we'll find out how good it runs when it gets ran more than just around the block

I should have this charging issue fixed by mid week when my new regulator shows... apparently i ordered just a rectifier, when i thought i had ordered the rectifier/regulator combo. so ordered the regulator yesterday and have prepped the cables so i should be good to drop it in.

im hoping to get this thing wrapped up soon!

New tabs, replaced front brake pads and rode home to Seattle (about a 30 mile ride). Bike was great, a little smokey when I got off the freeway, but did really well. Later last night I rode it to a friends house, hung out for a couple hours, then left. I got about 7 blocks down the road and it died at a light. Kicked the shit out of it and nothing. Noticed my headlight was out.

I think my ignition is shorting out as when I initially installed this one (a spare from my 750) I had to jiggle it around to get it to work. So now I think it shorted out and killed my f'n battery. planning on rolling it down a hill, compression starting it, and riding the bitch home.

Just finished reading this whole thread haha.. I had some spare time, so what! I have a 74 350f, and this build is looking awesome! I'm curious to know if it all came together and you got your fuel/electrical issue fixed. I'm offshore and I'm about to order a new seat and tank and start from there. I hope they will be home when I get there!

Keep it up man!

My hand made clip-on brackets arrived today, courtesy of Swagger. They look badass and I can't wait to get these on and ditch the clubmans. I'm sure once I get those on it will run properly too ;)

Anyways, hopefully I can get all this sorted soon as this weekend is my last bit of freetime for the next month or so. Chicago next week and then I'll get out of the country till the end of May.

Again, props to Swagger for some really nice craftsmanship.

I'm not familiar with Swagger. These are really nice. Could you provide a link or phone number for the company that made them.

hmmm. He will be disappointed ::)

do yourself a favour, and search for him using the "user" option. He's one of the key members here and does some amazing things ;)

Not related in any way, just an observation.

cheers
