Coast to Coast
DTT BOTM WINNER
I posted these in my build-ish thread in the tracker sub-forum... but I thought I would post them here as well.

Without further ado. Here are some pics of the final product. I really wanted some 70's period looking shots. I love them. If anyone wants more detailed shots I can snap them. But I'm super happy with the way these shots turned out. Curious to hear what you guys think of my choices on the paint etc... I strive for different, I think I got it.

Sick bike, paint looks great and the exhaust is really cool. I have the same bike and was considering changing the exhaust, did you have any issues cutting yours, such as rejetting or new baffles? Really like that plate mount what's that all about?

Those pipes aren't cut. They have had the stock "suitcase" muffler removed and those are some 8" or so slash-cut tips that were on the bike when I got it. They must have been some aftermarket tips that were available when the bike was new-ish cause they had brackets and stuff that were very specific to the 350. They had extensions that went between the tips and the actual header adding about 8-10" more inches that I removed. If you go the the first post you can see the extra length those extensions added and the brackets.

They have some short 4" baffles in the tips, but I have ordered 8" ones to try and increase back-pressure. The bike is running really lean right now and that's not good. I did put SLIGHTLY bigger jets in the carbs when I rebuild them, but they are just the stock sizes from an earlier year.... I think a #115 secondary main jet and a 70 primary main jet... I think. It had 105 and 68 if I recall.

The plate mount is made out of aluminum and is really flexy... but it seems to work. It's mounted on the lower shock mount. I got it off ebay for like $20. There are tons of them out there.

Loved the cafe and love this.

I'd like to see out on the road, same with the cafe as well. Bikes can look cool without a rider but look stupid with...so I'd like to see what it looks like with the important part on it.

I noticed a trend between the cafe and the brat-tracker: they are both done without radically modifying the frame, and without drastic changes to expensive parts (exhaust, wheels, brakes, tanks).

Do you set a certain budget for your builds?

Thanks for the compliments. They are both pretty small bikes... I'll try to shoot some photos of my bro riding it or something soon.

I don't really set a budget... but I would guess I have about $1500 in this build... after the purchase of the bike. A big part of that is the tire, seat, paint. Probably only about 500 in the rest of it.
