Would this seat work on a CB500 or CB550

Does anyone know if a seat like the one pictured here on a CB77 would work on a CB500 or CB550? Or is it possible to customize the seat foam/pan of a CB500 or CB550 to make it look like this?

Anything is possible in the hands of a good upholsterer. The stock pan would allow you to retain the hinge/lock.

I'm partial to the giuliari seats for the 500/550's, they flow nicely into the fender IMO.

Hey DSHEP,

Yeah I figured an upholsterer could probably make the shape, I just wasn't too sure about the width and slight rise in the back of the stock pan. But the retaining of the hinge/lock is one of the reasons I want to keep the stock pan.

That's a nice looking book by the way. And I do like that seat as well. Something to consider. Is that yours?

if your asking will one for a CB77 fit a 500/550. the answer is no. I'd have to be wider, and longer. Make your own^^^

Hey Swapmeet,

No, I know that a CB77 would not fit. I was wondering if the stock pan of a CB500 or CB550 would look roughly the same with the foam cut properly. Both the CB500 and CB550 have that slight rise at the back of the pan.

the superhawk frame under the seat is dead flat and there are no hinges. they bolt on at the back. your best bet is, as suggested by others, is to have a competent upholster cut the old foam into the shape you want.
