Would you buy this bike?

Coast to Coast
This may not be your specific style or "brand" and please don't mistake this for a classifieds or for sale ad...not the point. While I am trying to unload this bike to make space for my 350 and the honda 90 i just picked up, I am more interested in getting some input from others who have great eyes for what is a good looking ride. I have the tendency to get so close to a build that I often will subconsciously convince myself it is something that others would buy! Bike is not finished but is close...again not a FOR SALE ad but if it must be moved to that forum then so be it...I am just hoping for either some design confirmation or a wake up call...especially after Von's post about maybe we cant do it ALL! Thanks!

It definitely screams "Potential!" But, I'm a Ducati owner, so I'm a little partial. I've built a few Hondas, but I've never been brave enough to dig into a Duc project. Hopefully, one of these days...

I think it could use a little head light fairing but its not bad.

haha...love it...I agree the front end needs something...i have another smaller headlight i was gonna offset on the front, but i am battling the front. Every "crotch rocket" I have ever seen without a headlight fairing just looks awkward...was hoping to find a solution...I may have to go home and watch muppet treasure island now!

Sport Classic fairing?

yeah....I kinda like something like this...http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ducati-OEM-Headlight-Fairing-2006-Paul-Smart-Sport-Classic-1000DS-48110361AE-/170913167934

Newer Ducatis are often best left alone unless you are using factory race trim, like the Superlight from the 90s supersports.

For $1500 yes.

Rat Racers are hard to sell for anything more than salvage prices unless they are extremely wheel sorted....and is exactly what the buyer wants. Most chopped replica racers are assumed to be mutilated "stunter" bikes or crash victims.

If you have more than $1500 invested, you might be better off to invest some cash in powder coating, polishing, painting the bike. Add some Triumph Speedtriple headlamps and a carbon fiber shortie can. For another $1500 you can quickly create a $7000 bike and double your money.

Accountants buy these for showing up at Starbucks, and don't care about performance or maintenance. They'll drive it twice and then park it next to their GT2RS Porsche with seat belts for window lifts.

I think that the front end could use a street fighter fairing. It would fit the look of the bike, and would finish off the front that seems to be lacking. The paint on the tank and rear seem to make the bike look like it is leaning on toward the front wheel, or forward. The street fighter fairing might give the bike the look that seems to be almost there already.
I think it could be really cool with minor adjusting.

Make a Radical Ducati out of that bitch.

Personally its not my cup of tea. But were it mine I'd buy the biggest friggin' fairing I could find to cover it up as much as possible.

Awesome guys...thanks for the insight...i am just battling the dump money to make it amazing or get it out of my garage so I can focus on my 350 and new 90 project! I need about 2k out of it to break even...I love the bike but it has just gotten me in trouble a few times and I enjoy working on the vintage bikes more. Decisions decisions...but i think a front street fighter type fairing will definitely be in order. Thanks again.
