Looking for a Camshaft and sprocket off a 1969 cl350. Here's a picture i found comparing to two. The top is rated to 10,500rpm and the bottom is rated to 9,200Rpm. Let me know what you've got!!

You know you need the heads for it too. The fat cam doesn't fit on a small cam head.

Not sure about that rpm rating. My 69 350 had no trouble pinning the tach. There's more to rpm max then the cam.

Take that back. I had a 69. And it did like the Rpm. Maybe there is something to it.

Do you have a 69 350 that you want that early style cam for or are you thinking that it would make a good upgrade? IIRC they changed a bunch of other parts that also need to be swapped out with the cam if you find one.

If you are looking for a performance cam, might i recommend a Megacycle Cams street cam. Avoid their race cams for a street motor.

I've got a 69' cl350(to the best of my knowledge); didn't the fatty cam come stock in that year? Cause as far as i am aware, that is the cam the bike came with. The kicker is that I would not be surprised if the past owner tried to swap around parts without knowing for sure if they fit. I'll check the rocker arms and post em just to be certain that they are both early parts. By chance teazer, what stamps are the early rocker arms stamped with? From what I've found out, the late model rocker arms have a "312" on them. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not sure of the early stamping. The bike ran fine for the 5 minutes before her cam gear ate the dust

Is there any damage other than the cam bolt? The damaged threads can be repaired with braze and re-tap them. Bolts I think are the same as a number of other bikes, but PJ can probably attest to that or straighten us out if I got that wrong.

I wouldn't worry too much about early or late personally, I'd try to get the parts I have back into working order at minimal cost. Check out a CB750 or 900F or CB360 for cam bolts or even see what Orient Express has available. I'd be surprised if there are more than a couple of sizes.

I'm not 100% sure about the rockers etc, but for some reason I thought they were 286

the 69 did come with the "fat" "early" cam which is shown on the top in the pictures.. the fat cam only works with fat cam rockers.. you can not interchange the rockers between fat and thin.. the cam housings were different as well. The cam gear bolts need to be thrown away and new ones put in when you remove them ( as noted in the shop manual) there is one with a shoulder and one full threaded and it matters which goes where ;)

cam will swap into any style head, rocker housing and cam bearings(check side clearance)I have reused cam gear bolts numerous times, cam sprocket and rockers are specific to this cam and are not interchangeable...this is a hot set up for road racing(as per VRRA P1 350 rules) but for sunday rides and the donut shop scene...you don't need it.........good luck on your build
