WTB - Beat up fenders for CB 550K

As the subject line notes I'd like a pair of fenders that can be used for a KAFF project. Prefer ones that attach to standard mounts. The pair on my bike are just too damned good to take that spray bomb of flat black paint to.

I might have a front fender from a '74 cb 550 with a couple dents. quite possibly a rear w/ tail light. mounting brackets were good on front. I will check this week. I might have a decent tank as well. where are you located?

I'm located in the "GBA" (Greater Barrie Area), 'bout an hour north of the GTA.

Cool about your parts, let me know. The easiest and cheapest thing to do would be to use the parts I have with the bike now, but they are just too damned good to muck up..........I'd feel like a vandal!

Check my thread on the For Sale page under "Wicked package deal", you can see that the CB and it's parts is pretty clean.

well I am in the U.S. near chicago, illinois. I dont know if shipping will be worth it for you? The last time I sent something up there a tariff or tax was put on the part. it that jacked the price up. It was a 20 dollar part but the tax/ tariff was like 20 dollars as well. I still can not figure all that out? So you might want to consider this if you still want the fenders. I am going out of town for a few days. If you are still interested just get back with me and I will take pics and send them to you when I get back. later

If you ship USPS, not UPS, and declare a value of less than $20 the package will have an excellent chance of arriving in Canada without any added duties or taxes.

good to know. I usually send all part especially state side stuff UPS. It was weird because I have shipped a lot to Canada in the past and never had a problem until the one time last fall. Next time I will try your USPS idea.

Holy cr@P you guys are too funny!

Hi Spanky, I'll bug Noel first, see what he has. I can also vouch for the "use USPS NOT UPS" if you want to avoid border duties......when on a business trip several years ago over Valentines Day I sent Da Waffe a box of chocky via UPS. D@mmit, the duty and UPS' usurious brokerage fees more than doubled the initial cost!

When I win an eB@y auction I always request USPS, and will even pay a bit more if the local post office is a bit of a hike.

Hey Noel, I'll take that rear fender off your hands, I'm not too far "Up North" from Brampton, heck I can meet you in Brampton, whatever.

Drop me an email (below) with your address in Toronto, I work with a bunch of people from the GTA, they may be able to do a pickup as well.

Yes even stateside UPS comes off with some crazy assed rates. I went one time to price the shipping of a frame. JUST a frame. Completely stripped. No forks, swingarm nothing. 160 bucks. Off their rockers with that. I says " It weighs 20 lbs tops" She says "Its a bulky item, we have to special order a box" NO BOX? Still 160. Bullshite. I wasnt even getting that much out of it.

Hey Dave,
I"ll try to get it this weekend or next. Would that be OK?

Cheers
Noel

Not a problem Noel. Whenever, I want to get all the parts I need before I start.

The Bike Yard in Caledon has headers, I just need a SuperTrapp to attach to the end! He probably has a suitable fuel tank as well.

Is your bike at your place in Toronto? If possible I'd like to see it.

Sure... The bike is located downtown TO.
Let me know when you plan to be in the area, I can have the fender ready for you to pick up!

no problem here. just as long as you get the job done. I do have both fender though. I do have pics now. fyi they are in decent chrome condition. the rear needs some simi chrome polishand elbow grease. the front has a couple of dent. so if it does not work out Noel just email me. Also, from now on, when I ship to Canadia I will use USPS. sounds like it is less of a hassle.
