WTB CB750k top-end! SOHC jugs and head

OK, so the story is that a candidate for UC Berkley's highest honors decided to rebuild a CB750 top-end. You can guess how that turned out.

So at this point I need a matching set of jugs, a head, and a source for new pistons and rings. I just want to bore, hone, and replace gaskets and be done! Maybe a valve lapping but only based on a leak test.

Let me know where we can find these parts. It appears to be a 1974. Engine number begins CB750E-234---- Poor guy is on a budget. Was burned by a real asshole on this one.

No, I have never applied to an American university. Somebody else did just what you described, though. I could see the corner gouge before I even took it down.

hand sand those areas down, they aren't that bad. Hone the cylinders, fresh rings, gaskets and seals, and fire that bad boy up, you'll be replacing a cam chain or primary chains before it ever leaks again.

Minimum, I'd have to cut about 0.0236" total, half on the head and half on the jugs. Not to mention the pry area on the jugs is warped and wouldn't be flat even after the deck is cleaned. The cam chain tensioner mating surface is cracked and I believe the head is warped directly in front of the tensioner valley.

Still need a top end with matching pistons. Does anybody have a hookup for good low-priced stock-sized up to 1mm-over pistons and rings?

I think I have almost everything you're looking for except pistons from a SOHC 1978 cb750F, parts were soda blasted but I never used the motor. PM me with email if you want photos.

Thanks but I'm really trying to get a matching set of jugs and pistons so I can hopefully avoid having to buy a whole new set! Besides, cleaned parts would stand out against the rest of the bike.
