WTB: CX500 Engine

Hey guys. New here. I'll try to get a build thread up at some point.
I'm just getting started on a CX500 build and am looking for an engine. I'm near Birmingham, AL. So, southeast would be best.

I have one that is a know good runner with a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IJ2cvK5l3I The sound kinda sucks but the engine did not make any unusual sounds to me and sounded strong. I don't recall of hand but I think the odometer read 28k miles. I've got a 13k mile engine I haven't made run yet, a titled engine that is not stuck but does not make a full revolution, and the latest is an 80 deluxe with a GL engine in it. I'm asking $150 plus shipping for the runner complete (minus shifter, carbs, coils and intakes unless you want a cracked set)

I think cxman has me convinced to use the 650 engine I have. I'll get in touch with you if I change my mind.

No problem, and I'd have to agree with him if you can get a 650 I'm sure you'd enjoy the extra power infinitely more.

not just the power its the gearing and what that does

it turns over 1 k rpm slower on the highway and gets close to 30 mph faster top speed

Wow. That's insane. Is it the transmission gearing alone or is the final drive geared different as well?

final drive is the same but the trans is different and all ratios are higher

Oh that's right, they re-engineered the trans to hold up to the extra power on the Cx500tc models. Then dropped in higher compression pistons for the CX650's to make up for the lack of the turbo. Gotta give honda credit for not letting "probably" be good enough and going the extra mile to make sure it would hold up.

I guess I meant higher than the turbo model, not the standard.
