Ok, so I picked this up the other day at $100 because it seemed like a deal. It is a classic "ran when parked, but won't turn over now" deal. Supposedly left out for a couple days with no spark plug.
First thing I noticed is a broken shift shaft, then I went to pull the top end off. Pull the head cover and SURPRISE! No rockers and a wiped cam lobe. Valves are iffy, not cupped but worn very thin on the edges.
Cylinder was FULL of some blue colored liquid that smelled like a cross between gas and penetrating oil. Luckily the oil drained out was clean and nothing made it past the piston rings. With the cylinder off it has .004" taper and plenty of rust. The little end of the rod is also scored and out of spec with .003-.004" clearance due to being out of round.
All in all it looks like the engine will cost about $800 to bring back.
