lovin it, except my eyes kept being drawn to the line of the bars and forks...

I completely agree.

They should be in the same plane.

Re: XS400 El' Piscado Loco

Thanks guys..

The bars aren't snugged up. they are just slipped down on in the tree. So they seem to sag.

Cool! Liking it a lot. What about a sportster style tank?

Thanks!
I have one, thats what I started with. I just wasn't digging it I guess? this frame is super ugly. The sporty tank exposes to much of it. And I like the capacity of this tank. I should be able to go 150+ miles on this one.

Re: XS400 El' Piscado Loco

Dude, I need to pay better attention. At least we're on the same page! Great minds think alike!

Rolled it out side for a sec and played with my new phones camera.

I hate the rear tire. Needs a double stripe

So the holidays put the brakes on any real progress. I did switch the tank AGAIN... haha The tank I've got on it now needs a lot of work. I am in the middle of channeling it now. I got a new gas welder/braze set-up, and it makes this light gauge work a breeze. Thats all... I think I will wait to post picks for a bit.

ah, now I have posted in the thread! I have been getting my updates on this from the build off thread....awesome bike Louie!

i agree with disliking the rear tire, it doesn't go well with the front. Check out some dunlop k70 in the size you want...good rubber and while it's not going to have similar lines as the front it is an older style tread pattern. Looking forward to seeing the new tank.

Rear tire could use some fat white walls. Those air intakes rock, they would look killer with some Mooneyes fog light covers when parked.

Thanks Troy, your opinion is always good to hear. I've actually got the tire I'm going to use. Its a Goodyear grass hopper.

I've been working on the frame all day. Getting real close to finished with it I think...? Also, adapted a rear wheel from a 63' triumph. Which looks killer imo.

I will post some picks in the next couple of days. Hope every body had a good new yrs.

Couple update pics. Switched the tank again! haha. Fit a 63' triumph star hub rear 18" wheel. Got the back bone all tacked together. Should have it welded up in the next day or 2, and be getting close to paint. I had to cut the tunnel out of the tank. So thats the next big task, welding in a new tunnel. I made my coil mounts and got them tack'd on as well. I finally feel like the bike is getting close to being finished being mocked up... I think? haha
I also scored a tail light from my buddy Jeff. It's a sparto. Anyway, thats it for now. Later
