In TX the law only stipulates mounted at the rear of the vehicle.

All depends on how the officer interprets the law, and what a judge would uphold in court. Somehow, sadly, I don't think it would fly.

I like the train of thought though...

That seat is hands down the best brat style seat I've seen. I love its thinness juxtaposed with the deep ribs.

Thanks for the compliments people. I am currently messing around with some "possible " new seat ideas. I sewed this up last night over a movie with the family.

Looks a little lumpy in the pics. I haven't stretched it tight yet, so it should go away. It is also not bolted flush to the frame in the pics.

Ever tried using staples rather than straight pins when sewing? Works awesome for holding things together.

You Hand stitched all that?!?!?! WOW! Should look great either way. I need to re-do the seat on my R5. I did a quilted stripe one originally but a year later it looks bush. have to give it another go.

I hear ya fella's... I'm not sold on the white seat either. I think for this build I am actually going to pay a professional to sew up a seat. I can fake the rest of the build. But sewing I think I need to contract a professional, haha...

Why? The black seat is perfect. To me, t really makes the bike.
