XS400 exhaust and fuel inlet questions (pics included)

Alright, its been a very long time since i've been on here, or working on my xs400 for that matter. Decided on selling my 03 R6 and the thought of not having anything to ride in the mean time scared me into realizing i should've been done with my cafe conversion a long long time ago. So started working on it again. After it sitting for almost a year, i put everything back on it to hopefully begin trying to get it to start, reconnected the exhaust, rebuilt carbs, air pods, fuel line from the tank (not on the bike for ease to get to the air/mixture screws later on) and all the other stuff minus the seat and the tacho/speedo which i'm still working to finish.

To my surprise, after reconnecting everything it started up the first try! this of course gave me a huge point of relief. It is also idling fine, although, since i don't have the tacho hooked up i don't know how many rpms is idling at.

Which brings me to some questions/parts of concern to be fixed.

First is the fuel line into the carburetors, the fitting that i took out of the carburetor to/from the tank/petcock only had one washer (that i remember and/or still have) I'm assuming i'm missing a washer which is why there is a leak. My question is does any one know where i can get one of these washers from. I didn't see any on mikesXS. The leak isn't a large one, it isn't dripping, but you can tell there is a leak from touching the washer and feeling wetness. Below is a picture to make sure everyone understands where i'm talking about.

Next is the exhaust, I remember when taking the exhaust off to get some of the rust off and paint it, it was a bitch getting the nuts off of the head studs and get the exhaust out with (what i'm assuming is) 2 reducer sleeves. So from my memory, the flanges were up against the case somewhat flush. This of course was a good 9 ish months ago that i did this. I've been pretty thorough with keeping up with all the parts: 2 sleeves and 2 nuts for each exhaust port, so 4 total sleeves and 4 bolts, and the flanges are secured to the pipe (they don't budge).
So........when i put the exhaust pipes on and wiggled them as much as i could back into the exhaust ports with the reducer sleeves the flanges would not fit flush, or close to it against the case, even after i tightened down the nuts to the head studs they still wouldn't slide in anymore, and the reducer sleeves can be moved/wiggled in and out of the exhaust port with a screw driver (although they won't fall out). But the exhaust is secure and won't wiggle much of any. I don't really feel secure/right with any openings directly around the exhaust ports. When i started teh bike up and let it run, i noticed some white looking smoke that was coming from around the exhaust ports/pipes, i wasn't sure what it could've been from other than maybe exhaust fumes? the smoke was white colored which at the time was the same color of the smoke/exhaust fumes coming out the tail pipe (the white exhaust fumes coming out of the tail pipe cleared up after it ran for about 10 minutes)
SO for my question, what should I do about re connecting my exhaust, should i get new reducer sleeves and flanges or what, When i removed the exhaust originally there wasn't any type of joint gasket, so should i get one of these? below is a picture of how the bike currently is.

any information would be helpful. I've looked at mikesxs at their exhaust gasket stuff, but i'm not sure if this stuff will fit or not since the 650's were bigger bikes, so i'm assuming the exhaust ports were also bigger. So i'm not sure where to go for this stuff.

I don't know about your carb washer, but my exhaust flanges are the same and I have no problems. Do you have a gasket on them? The 650 is 1 1/2 diameter. If yours are the same I don't see why you couldn't use the same gaskets. I can't see your carb picture very well. Is that a banjo fitting, like on your brake lines? If it is, then yes, you do need one on each side.
