Haven't heard anything bad about Omar's kit, other than he's a hard guy to reach. If you order, make sure you use PayPal etc. and ensure you're covered in case things take a while.
I had a friend make a similar kit on a lathe to mount my Honda CB front hub based wheel on the rear of my SR500.
That's cool Tim, I'm contemplating trying to do it myself, but at the same time, just really want to move forward and get the 19" on there.. Might just spring for the kit, $300 seems a bit much for what it is though :/
I've contacted Omar's and Robert has replied to me same day. I think I read that Omar's was kinda a part time thing and is now a full time gig..
Good stuff. If you have a lathe large enough and all the measuring tools, it's a pretty simple kit.
Mine is made up of a large spacer to carry the sprocket, which is also designed to house a 3rd wheel bearing. Then there is an internal spacer between the 3rd bearing and the bearing in the hub, to maintain the solid structure between the swingarm.
On the other side you may need a spacer to carry the brake rotor to align with your caliper. Omar's kit assumes use of the stock XS650 rear caliper/hanger/rotor. Mine isn't stock so I'm still sorting out the final alignment of rotor/caliper to ensure spoke clearance.
2000 yz125 rear wheel bolt it on figure out spacing and gearing a brake stay and your done and the yz is a race bike so weight of the part is almost nothing and oddly enuff i got a new street bike ratio alum sproket that i bought that didnt fit my pre 99 hub. This wheel is laced to a 18 but the hubs are the same
If all you want to do is run a 19" rim, then get a 19" rim and lace it to the XS650 hub. If you want to run a 19" mag wheel on the rear, you need adapters.
