I'm Jesse and living in the Netherlands. My hobbies are my '64 dragrace beetle, kiteboarding and motorcycles. As I really like old stuff and being different I did not want to buy a modern sportsbike like everyone else . As I always liked cafe racers I decided to start a project.
For the basis I went with a XS650 (type 3L1) which I could pick up for decent money. I started when I picked it up but other than that it was in quitte a bad shape. Perfect!
Started stripping the bike:
I picked up a Yamaha Radian swing arm and some spoke wheels. First I wanted to go with a front wheel hub at the back but after reading some more this might be a bit unstable. Don't know what hub to use now which can also be used with a rear disk brake.
I ordered a battery box rear hoop from Benjie Cafe Racer to use. Furthermore I will have a local guy make an aluminum tank + seat. Bit in the style of Benjie. Furthermore the engine will be serviced and checked by me. Still need to find a good manual for it.
