XS650 Metal side covers

They have been bead blasted so they are totally ready for paint, and one has been partially polished so if you want to polish them you have a good start. Came off a 1979 XS650 Special, $60obo +shipping

What year are those? And can they be just polished to get the stainless look? Would I get the same results polishing the tank? I would lke to get that stainless look on the bike.

They are from a 1979, not sure what other years they fit. To get the polished look, I think that you have to sand them with like 400 grit and work your way up to 1500, or higher, then buff them. Not sure if thats what you meant by polish. Haven't done too much polishing myself. But yeah, you should be able to get the same results as the tank.
