XS650 No Spark, HELP

Completed a build on a 1980 xs650 (tci ignition.) Had the bike running great, but battery wasn't charging so I replaced the rotor in the alternator and rewired some weak connections. When I went to start the bike after that, no spark at all. I have gone through all the tests I can think of, checked the wiring, replaced the ignition coil, replaced the regulator, swapped in a new alternator, new plugs, and even a new tci box!! Still no spark..
Im about another day away from lighting the thing on fire
someone tell me I screwed up some stupid simple little thing and I can get her on the road tomorrow

Are you sure you have the correct rotor for Tci ignition? Points and Tci rotors are not the same, but some aftermarket ones will work on both.

Since it was running with the old parts, I suggest that you put them back again, one at a time, to isolate the fault. If it is still not working, when all the old parts are back, something must have happened to the wiring.

Guy i know had the same problem, as well i did too but on my xs500.

for some reason when i push the start button nothing happens. I got so pissed because i checked all my line and there were no problem, all original parts.

So i went with the old "anything fits if you kick it hard enough". Started kick starting it and turned over right away. Told the other guy with a 79 xs650 same thing and turned over for him too. So give it a try... nothing to loose.

But i agree with putting the old parts back on.

I have know replaced all the components with known working ones, wiring appears to be fine, and still no spark!! It is only kickstart if that makes a difference, this is getting really annoying now. Any suggestions?
