bought my first motorcycle the other day a xs650 I've got big plans to turn it into a cafe racer with a military/scrambler influence. I will be posting picture along the way. if anyone is interested in some of the stock parts pm me I will be selling lots of the parts to fund new parts :)

Re: xs650 before picture

Welcome! Looks like a great starting point- clean, already has aftermarket headpipes/mufflers and an oil filter cooler. Shows the PO probably took car of her and made reasonable upgrades. Can't wait to see where you go with it.

Re: xs650 before picture

they are just some basic RFY shocks, they are pretty popular for economy builds they run around $100 im happy with them

I'm going out of town for about a month so i managed to get my bike into my basement, so that its safer and it's there for an overhaul in the fall.

okay so i haven't been keeping up with my thread. since my last post i have stripped the bike down to the frame taken off all unnecessary bracket(or so i thought... missed one due to change in plan). I have now began to rebuild with new parts with frame and everything else unfinished. My goal is to get it running for the most part how i want with the parts i want then i will take it apart and have parts blasted and powder coated.

gas tank is a Clarke universal tank i saw someone else using one really liked it and actually bought if from him. just set on right now.

Yeah what happened to that guy? He was a fabricating savant... only used a drill press and hand tools IIRC.
