Is that brake stay designed to be in compression? Looks like it. Just checking.

As in when the brakes are applied, the force would be back towards to mounting point of the brake stay, therefore putting it under a compressive force.

For example, on honda cb's the brake stay is mounted underneath the line of the swingarm, so when breaking occurs, the force is away from the mounting point, putting tension on to the stay.

What Green said.

If that is the stock Stay and it was originally mounted above the swingarm like that, it should be fine.

That exhaust is snazzy looking Jared. And thank goodness for braided brake lines......

Thanks Rich. The cans ended up being double stacked on one side really wasn't the original plan. I had wanted to keep them tucked underneath as much as possible having just the tips sticking out. But between the size of the cans and space to work with it just wasn't doable. And with them being as small as they are it just didn't look right one being on each side. I am pretty happy the way they did turn out though. Later down the road some one piece stainless header pipes will replace the chopped up old headers and mandrel tubing.

A wise man once said "the last 10% of a build is a son of a bitch". Trying to rid the XS of electrical gremlins today. Getting closer to having it finished and closer to running out of time before Barbers. Kiley and Neal, I can't say thanks enough, no way I would have a chance of finishing in time without the help.

Yep, the last 10% is the worst. I have just a few little things on the CX to call it finished and they are dragging on sooo long. With the help you have though you'll have her done enough to ride for Barber then you can handle what's left after.

Well the good news is it still looks like I am going to be riding this thing during Barbers. Bad news is there just isn't enough time to get her painted and wrap up a few other loose ends before hand. But at least I will be riding!
