XT500 Project "Too Excited"

Picked up a 1976 Yamaha XT500 last night that I have BIG plans for, probably cafe / brat style...
The PO let me ride it around the block, and I had to fight the grin on my face when rolling back up to strike the deal.
That SuperTrapp exhaust has a nice rumble behind that thumper (supposedly the motor has all "new" parts on a fresh "rebuild")

After 2 weekends where I was able to work in the garage for 2 days, I have some progress on this project.
Tell me your thoughts...I am just piecing it together right now, trying to get inspiration. I do not want to cut on the
frame or tank until I figure which direction to go. So please let me know what you think.

Looks good. similar to where I'm at right now with my xt. What front wheel are you using? any more progress?

If it were my bike I think it would have to end up as a tracker rather than a cafe, but thats just me. You know what "you" want!

I have an 81 XT500. You are going to love it!!!

Mine is set up to look like a TT 500 with YZ suspension, but I keep thinking about supermotoing it.

If you'd like to sell that clark tank and the rack I'd be interested.
