I have a 1978 Yamaha XS 500. I bought this bike over the summer as a project bike to transform into a Cafe/Bobber style bike. School ended up picking up and I just don't have the time to put towards the bike. It starts and rides fine, the rear brake will need to be bled. The rear fender is chopped, blinkers removed, engine coated, and tank plastidipped (which can be peeled off to reveal factory paint). The odometer reads 21457 and there is a dent on the right side of the tank. It is in need of some TLC and like I said I bought it as a project so it is not perfect. It takes a minute to start but after a few tries will start right up. I'm asking what I paid for it, $1300, but I am definitely willing to work on the price if someone is really interested. I just don't want it sitting in my garage taking up space anymore. This is a perfect starter bike for someone trying their hand in motorcycles and will also make a great project bike. It has a clean and clear title in my name and the tag is up to date but expires in December. I'm located in Oklahoma don't have a way to deliver but I will help anyway I can thanks for the interest.

No...it's definitely a Yamaha CX500. I know that transverse V-twin anywhere shaft drive.

A TX500? I have a XS500 and TX500 sitting in my garage I'm working on right now and that looks very very close to the XS500 more than the TX, tank does look like a XS500 as well as the carbs, front and rear master cylinder and rims. All of which are different on the TX but some of those parts could've been changed or replaced.... I didn't even think Yamaha made a CX500. I though that was Honda only.
