Hey stevearama thanks for the help! I think i'm ok for part numbers etc at the moment but you never know ... I'm happy to offer some advice where I can mate. Do you have a build thread? Don't sweat about thread jacking mate ;D What seems to be the problem?
Hey, The bars are off a cheap bicycle actually :! Picked them up at the in-organic curb side collection last year... They will require a bit of modification if I want to use them in the final product.
It's been a while since an update again : Kids work and no money make for a dangerous gauntlet!
Anyway I made a seat base from a bit of scrap aluminium and bought a "camping mattress" to cut up for the padding, Add some glue and taa-daa its a seat, It's really light which I'm happy with cos this little bike is gonna need all the help she can get Obviously it still needs to be covered...
I'm thinking of doing a diamond style pattern on the cover at this point.
I also made a Headlight bracket, Pretty standard stuff attaches to the horn bolts and has been bolted through the top and bottom of the bucket, You can adjust the angle by adjusting the top bolt in and out.
I'll try to get some better pics of it soon it's not completely finished yet needs to be tidied up etc.
So I've done a little bit since the last pics, But as I said I got a new job which leaves me with even less time than before
But it pays much better so cant complain too much
anyway iv'e done a fair bit of port work on the cylinder, Got some new indicators air filter, kick starter and a few other bits and bobs...
Here's how she's sitting at the mo
Yeah i read that about these filters somewhere. Do you know of a better filter to use that's good looking? I dont really like the the look of the all foam uni-filter type units but if that's all that'll work I probably go that route in the end.
Sooo... I kinda need some opinions on my paint colours..
I'm colour blind so I always second guess myself. I showed my wife after I had done the first side with the bronze pinstripe and she said she'd "have to think about it" which is never a good thing!
Anyway what I'd like is opinions on whether or not the bronze colour works as a pinstripe OR whether another colour would be better.
(and what that colour might be).
The masking is not straight between the silver and black so the pinstripe is there to even it out.
The other colour I was thinking that might work was a light green (but as i said Im colour blind )
i think the bronze can work if your seat leather is the same or similar shade... which shouldnt be too hard with your wifes help...
random accents usually dont imho
it also matches your springs but im sure you didnt mean to do that...
i really like the bars/speedo area... super clean!
Thanks for the reply man! I have since removed the bronze stripe. I thought I could of done a few other highlights here and there but as a rule of thumb if i'm not fully convinced I usually change it. :-\
