Starts fine when I want to go somewhere and then doesn't when I need to come home!!
Now it won't start at all. I've got fuel, petcock on, got spark, battery charged, air, exhaust pipe not filled with gas (that's another story). It should start. Won't even fire with starting fluid. I'm stumped???
Any suggestions, comment appreciated.

have you ever tried push starting it? if i ever have a stubborn motorcycle that wont start after kicking or electric start. I push start them and its been 100% successful so far.

It has new coils and good spark. I can't find the valves. They must be missing.
Got it running, the pet cock leak and floods it.

Still looking for the valves.

Flip the wireing on the coil mabie your 180 out of time no better yet just swap the plug wires that way you dont have to pull the tank.....yet

You mention a leaking petcock or float valves. Maybe best to fix the leaks and weeps first.

+1 more.
A leaky petcock and float valves will flood the motor and make it a royal pain in the ass to start. Ask me how I know ;)
