I picked one up today from wilko's. Unfortunately where it dips in in the middle kidney shape is just that bit too narrow for my seat.
However now I have something to kneel on.
;)

oh sorry to hear that. If mine dint fit it was going to be a mothers day present. ;D ;D ;D

Hi all, super quick update of the bike since the weathers been nice enough to drag the ol' girl out.
Knocked up a stand so i could walk around the bike, first time iv been able to do that since i ripped it apart.
Can see from the pics now the bars are seriously going to need cutting down OR swaping for clip ons, any thoughts on that matter?

(dogs really are a mans best friend)

Also should point out that the seat will sit lower on the frame once iv properly screwed it down

Any feedback as always would be great

Looks great so far!
What do you mean by "cut down"? Theyre too wide for your tastes? Clip ons would look great, or look into clubman bars for a moped. Theyre narrower overall, even in the center. They look much better on smaller bikes.

Awesome build, man. I love that GSX tank on it, it makes it look much more aggressive. I'd advocate running clip-ons as that's what I'm about to order for mine as well. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out, always happy to see fellow SR250 riders.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I think ill just keep the bars for another project or flog them on ebay.
Clips on it is.

Good call, I always adhere to the theory that it's never a bad thing to have a mountain of various parts lying around. I've been thinking about picking up a set of clubmans for my CB750 too.

Hi,

I'm aware that this topic hasn't been posted on for a while but I thought I'd say hello.

I'm just starting my own SR250 cafe racer project. I'm fascinated by yours as we both have the 'shoestring budget' issue.

Did you ever get it finished?

Haha damn I suppose it has been a while! Saddens me to say the bike is not finished, and still sits at home neglected for the majority of the year. I started university a couple years ago and life away from home for most of the year, meaning I have little to no access to it, or indeed time to work on it. This year will be the first in a few that I'll have a decent time at home over summer, so I'm intending to get some progress made and hopefully get it all wrapped up!
