yamaha tr1 920 build

hi all just made a start on my tr1 over the past two weeks , made the rear subframe drild and tubed the swing arm , made the rear set hangers in ssteel , ssteel headlight mount ,got new alloy rims on there way and xs650 hubs tomorow is exhaust buildin time 8)

Nice bendy bits! I like the idea for the rearset mounts - but will they hold up to the weight of a rider standing on them etc?

Being a chassis / suspension designer [ auto ] I'd say the gearchange side is very nicely triangulated.
 
made the exhaust ,its geting there now 8)

Jesus! How do you get the exhaust off?

Nice welds. Have you run into any problems with the front pipe being so much longer than the rear?

hi rich 8) the front pipe is not much longer so i carnt see a problem , the exhaust splits to come off 8)

Looks like you're making better progress than me. Those pipes look the muttsnutts
What rear shock are you using ? I'm after a bit more ride height at the back & also junk all the adjusters.

mid 90's yamaha yzf600 NON external resevoir shock its a direct fit replacement, check my build thread in my sig for photos etc.

thanks mate , i broke a buell back in 2007 and add the buell ulysses rear shocker on the shelf for all these years lol its a 30 minit job to make it fit but its the same lenth as the yamaha one 8)

Cheers MJ, I do remember you saying that about the YZF shock but is it the same length as standard?. I'm bit more ride height

yeah sorry forgot mention that part, the shock is identical in length so you wont get much help in that department.. but as for fitment its golden, and gets rid of all the nonsense air, adjuster, whatever, crap.
 
only jut got back on the bike in the last day or 2 .its sat on a shelf waiting to be built up lol I built this hinckley triton tat y te tr1 wa on old .so best get a pick up
