yamaha xs400

I found a running xs400 and can pick it up for $500 but I am a big guy and am afraid that the 400 will not be powerful enough for me. I also have a xs650 engine that a friend will give me for almost nothing. So two questions will the 400 be a good starter cafe racer for me to build and if the 400 is not making HP how difficult will it be to swap out the 650 engine.

400cc was plenty for me two up to do 80 easy , thats close to 400 lbs I would estimate. XS650 its a great engine but I dont know about stuffing it in a 400 frame , I would think not a good idea though anything is possible. XS400 is a great bike unless you intend on breaking a hundred everyday running errands/driving to work.
