Letting go of my '82 XS650. The bike runs great, carbs are clean and jetted perfectly, battery is good. The charging system is good, I just installed a brand new rotor, not a re-wind. Nice clip-on bars, perfect seat. Has Iridium plugs installed and new Accel plug wires. Aftermarket mufflers are loud but not ridiculous. Stock airbox removed and K&N pod filters installed. Drilled front brake rotor. This is the later motor with CDI electronic ignition. No points to mess with, smooth and worry free. Nice light clutch. Chain and sprockets are like new.
The bike is stripped down with some unnecessary items removed except I left the electric start. No turn signals, speedo or tach but I still have the stock pieces and they will go with the bike.
Cosmetically it's real good but not perfect. This is a bike to be ridden not parked and shown. One indent in the tank that didn't even break the paint. You can see it in the fourth photo down. A couple little nicks here and there. Good luck finding one in better condition that isn't a non rider show me off bike.
You could wander into a shop and buy a crusty stock 650 for too much money, then spend all year tearing it apart, or you can buy mine and be done. Or keep going with it.
