i had an '84 model for years. Loved it. Unbreakable. Dead reliable. Can't really praise it enough. Did a lot of desert riding with it and the only drawback was the suspension. It was great for pottering but if you tried to go really fast it got confused and would off load you. But other than that it was a fabulous bike. I wouldn't mind having another one. I got a '70 CB750 all original if someone want s to do a trade.
I just picked one up a month ago- I still haven't got it plated or anything but I've run it a few time around the back yard. It has a basic thumper appeal to it, and how can one not love an alloy tank?
Starting is kickstart only- but easier than my Commando.
