All right so it begins. I had the frame sandblasted and powder coated and it is now home. All pretty and shiny, Next is for shocks and bronze bushings and to clean up the rear wheel.
Here are some pics.
While i am cleaning my wheels i am going to be making a custom cafe seat using the old seat pan as a base and foam, fiberglass. Hopefully all will go well. Of course this is all taking place while my job is going crazy, my wife is expecting our first any day now, I am doing a repaint on the other cb 500 i have and trying to run additional art through may mind so i don't get rusty (check out helmet sticker thread coming soon) so needless to say the project my hit some periods of lull. I have a guy locally that does race bikes and used to have a CB500 drag bike (back in the day) that would knock out 750's, that is going to help me build the engine. Where has all of my money gone.
allright gents new update. i have been exceedingly lazy on this project. i am buying all of the chassis items and having the wheels done and cleaned. but the new cool item is the pewter cast emblems that i am going to have done at work. I hope to have new ones made for all of my cb500 bikes.
oh yeah pix
obviously the top is the recast pewter and the lower is the original. I am very pleased.
Congrats on the baby my wife is due in July, I know so many pregnant women right now!
The frame is real nice, mine is blasted, needs to be welded and powder coated.
i got my frame blasted and powdercoated at Signature powdercoating who own a large sand blast company in Georgetown right off the interstate. I dropped it off and let them take care of everything. Ask for Mike if you need anything. I have an all stock 500 and this one is going to be at least 555cc min. Good luck to you both, it isn't easy getting all of the stuff together. I actually need to head over to magnum cycle and check on some parts for the dual disk that i am running.
That's what I was thinking after reading the way that reply was written!
Well, his name is Juice Bruce or should it be Ummm......Bruce Juice....Hmmmm? :-\
Stocker to rocker. Ok gents the cafe project has taken a slight turn due to TADA MONEY! I decided to bolt all my current stuff onto the stocker. As you see in the pics. Chain guard removed, center stand removed, CB750 Aftermarket shocks, 4 into 2 exhaust, Clubmans, new master cylinder, and superbike grips. Next up? Custom switch panel, New avon rubber (already in), new cafe seat, shorty front fender, custom aluminum rear shorty fender, custom tailight , turnsignals, rearsets, and the, piece de resistance, a 555cc overbore motor with a mega cycle mild street cam. Maybe a dyna and ignition upgrade when the money comes in. Here is how it sits now.
