I finally got this thing running, stripped signals, hump seat, clubmans, single bar end mirror, kept the factory rails and didn't decide to cut them because I wanted to keep the factory seat for doubling around town. I wanted to paint the wheels black but kinda like the chrome finish...anybody have photoshop skills? Also gonna paint the tank and seat ...maybe creme white or black..can't decide...now waiting on registration from insurance company and should be a blast!

Good start on the little fellow, I don't mind it at all. I reckon keep the chrome spokes and polish up some engine work to offset them, also go black for the seat cowl to keep it in line with the tank/guards/sidecovers. It'll look ace!

I'd also do something about the frame rails to the rear...any ideas on them? Otherwise, very tidy little unit. Good work.

Thanks! i'd like to keep the rails there because the stock seat needs the mounting points to lock in, I might trim it down to the first holes in the future though. I'd like to keep the wheels chrome as well, maybe spray the spokes a nice silver since the finish is fading a bit. I will paint the tail as well, black as well. I want to also paint the tank too...

If you want to redo the paint then go for it! Just saying it looks alright in the pics, suppose real life might differ up close...often does unfortunately. I hear you on being able to return to stock, and had an idea with the frame rails; use them to mount rear lights right on the end...or if you're not doing that then just fashion up some mad rearward pointing spikes to slip on over them, haha. Something different, anyhow.

If you move the seat back will it fit over the rails and sit a bit lower? this will help with the seat hump not looking to big with that tank and give you more room on the bike. Just a thought. Otherwise looks great.

I tried that, but there is a gap between the seat and the tank and my crotch gets beat up with the tank mount bolt there haha, tired covering it, and looks funny, also if I pull the seat back too much the bike actually looks smaller. The seat so close gives the effect of the rear wheel stretched out a bit....thanks for the comments
