One thing I do know is I will spring the $20 for a new plate as that is the old large plate and way too big for that little bike LOL.

How much will they soak you to insure it? An extra bike (added to my existing three) should only be ~$19 annual for liability here. Collision and comp won't even add much since they are ridden so little.
 
We don't have collision here. Just liability and to add just for me it will be $50 for the year, William once licensed thiugh it will be $300 prob for the year. My GL for me is 350 for the year, adding Williams scooter before he was licensed cost $25 for the year, adding him it jumped by $375 LOL. He's now got 2 years insured and will take the MSF so it should only be around the same to go full MC and @125CC it will be super cheapest way to go.

Years ago I built a scrambler model 125 single to look similar to a 60's Honda 250/305 scrambler. I painted the frame and associated parts red with the tank, side covers and fenders in silver.
 
Wasn't able to grab it yet. The guy sold it to a friends sister back in 2002, her dad did a full service but she never road it. He bought it back a year later but her details are still on the sold to of the title so he's calling dmv today to make sure it's still in his name and get a replacement to fill in my info.

Not sure how they do it in The Great White North, but here in Ohio in that situation you just need to go to your local title office and get a duplicate title. Until the individual it's been signed over to actually does the title transfer, technically, it's still in the name of the person on the front of the document. It use to cost $5 but it may be up to $10 now, I can't remember. Of course here they do things differently from state to state, who knows how much difference there is when you cross borders? It doesn't seem like it would be all that much different, though.
 
Pretty much all he has to do is make sure title never transfered and he can just use a form from dmv to transfer. I looked it up, pretty easy really. He just had to call and confirm its still his. Fill out and sign the form, give it to me with bill of sale and I go pay the taxes and fee and tranfer into my name.
 
Still another reason for the seller to get a signed BOS when selling a bike. P.O. still has the liability in event of an accident unless you can document that ownership was transfered.
 
Yep I always get a signed and dated BOS from the buyer when I sell so I can prove ownership was transferred, if they don't go to the DMV that's then on them.

There is a lot of truth in this. In Arkansas you can transfer the vehicle online with the DMV. It releases the seller from any liability after the sale date.
 
Got it home tonight. Will haul it out tomorrow. Both tired from cutting and dragging the xmass tree home today then 4 hour round trip to get it. Looks good and he dropped the price again cause he couldn't find the coil.

Yeah, idk why I loaded them here and shared links? Anyway the tank smells like turpintine. Full of rust. We drained it and filled with vinigar and its like chocolate milk right now. Tank is solid but soo full of rust.

back at it tonight, Magoo cracked right in and started cleaning stuff. got the seat pretty nice but I didn't get a pic yet. He's working on getting the crud out of the stitching. The seat has a brand new leather cover so we are likely to use it. may still grab Cory's as we get deeper and he thinks about the final look.
 
got this coming, once carb is clean and this lands we'll get a battery and try firing it up after checking/changing the oil and making sure air filter is good etc.

So what is the consensus on tires. I aired up the tires and I know they are 18 years old but have 0 wear, damage, cracking etc. so I am considering using them. My brain says they are too old, but they haven't seen outside since installed and no UV = still like new
 
Personally I wouldn't use them for my kids bike.
For my self I would, but I would also be cautious.
But that is just because I am a cheap bugger.
Old tyres get hard and layers delaminate when they are heated up too much.
