Re: 73 CB200 straight up Cafe racer!! "Smokey"??!!
Yes that's the stuff I used on the base and headgasket. My gaskets are copper and this stuff really helped with oil control. Regular gaskets will really benefit cause it will soak into them and really make them leakproof. This stuff is...

Oh yeah, That retainer bolt for the generator. I hit mine with a 3/8" air impact wrench. You will need special tool to pull it off the crank. Got my puller from DennisKirk.com. Basically looks like a big fine thread bolt.

Use HONDABOND when you put your cases back together. I have used it for many rebuilds and it seals perfectly! If you are going to use the stock base and head gasket , coat them with HYLOMAR (found it thru Grainger supply). It's a blue sealant...

I f I can get a source for some BRONZE rod my friend and I probably can turn some out on his lathe!? Bronze is very hard and durable plus it has some self lubricating properties also.

All I did on the faces was outline where the numbers lined up on a piece of paper.I then flipped the gauge over and used the outline as a template to line up the new numbers. The numbers and letters came from a hobby shop. They are transfer style stickers. Place the sticker over the space then...
Well despite working on my 350f I still have managed some more mods to the 200. I decided to go with some upswept cocktail shaker mufflers. The inlet size is 1.5" so I fillet brazed the same diameter tube to the stock header to create a seamless transition.
Also used the same tubing and built...
Whoa! Hadn't been here in a while (working on other projects). Saw this and my jaw dropped, thanks for the nomination. There has been some changes that I need to post. Like the seat padding upholstered , yet another style of mufflers, stone guard(finally!), and 304 stainless drum brake arm...
Mine are 31.8mm clamps with the lip filed off. Also the ears have holes for the bolts as well, not just pinched in place. Good luck with your build!

There not the best of quality but are speed rated. Duro brand with a 3.00 front and a 3.50 for the rear. I have had good luck with these tires in all conditions and really like the vintage look.

One reason mine are thicker is because they are tapped so I woudn't need a nut for the mounting bolts. To me 1/4" sounds a little thin thinking about someones weight on them and especially the braking side. Might flex under hard braking.

The way my rearsets attach required a tab like the one I fabbed. The before shot shows how I "rigged" them up with a acc. clamp and an existing hole. Alot cleaner with the new mounts.

I used NASON brand paint. Should be available at most autobody supply shops. Reasonably priced and very easy to work with. The single stage black came from Eastwood. If you need more info PM me and I will get some more details for you.

Took the day off today from work and finished and powder coated the exhaust flat black. Will eventually do the thermal wrap down to the coupling. I think that will complete this project, maybe! :P I want to thank everyones compliments and have to say I gathered alot of imformation from this...
