Get rid of charging system on cb360

If you have the exhaust from another bike, fits a completely different bike and it works, why not ?[emoji2]

Not sure what you get out of fanning the flames. Glad you are not spraying gas/petrol on this [emoji2] I think I got all the answers I'm looking for and you all have been helpful, though some are irritated by this as to "why is this guy doing this? Why can't he get it? Grrr" I'll share the...

Get rid of charging system on cb360

Yes DD, lithium batteries. Yes, I'm aware of the over charge and discharge cutoff voltages. Thanks for the reminder.

Sonreir, your 3 phase stator is a PM brushless, which is more powerful than the stock cb360 stator, correct? If I used your stator and a capacitor, do you think it would work without a battery?

Get rid of charging system on cb360

I wouldn't go below 11v and end up in a dead battery. I'll have enough juice {at least 75whr @11v) when I decide to switch to the stator.

The pack I'm planning to use has a nominal voltage of 11v. Let's see how it goes.

Actually I should be able to plug my stator back and head back.

This is my final solution. What I'm experimenting now is just that. This will be a nice learning for me and hopefully for many here in DTT..

Get rid of charging system on cb360

Yes of course, to calculate energy, I need power, which is Vols x Amps. Simple voltmeter reads voltage. I would use a DC power meter. Question about the low voltage - how low can the H twins go down to and still perform ok? Is 11v too low?

I'll be equipped with energy meter to monitor the energy spent, do that I know when to turn back. I'll go for a 40 miles loop, so that if I ask anyone to get my van to pick me up, help us there within b 30 mins. My biggest pain now is to get the bike running [emoji30]

Thank you DD, Sonic, teazer. I understand and agree with all of your points and I'm convinced that best solution is to keep, and upgrade the stator. I really appreciate, respect and agree with what's been said. I just want to try this out, just for my understanding on whether it is possible and...

Get rid of charging system on cb360

Oh!! My bad. In my post, I mentioned 250w. I meant 250whr. Since I'm going with LED, I'm estimating 20W (15w for headlights, 5w for other misc) for electricals. I read somewhere that coils pull about 2A, which would be about 25w. Could you please confirm that?

I'm just messing with you.. I understand both of your concern about the weight.

I think both Soneir and I are saying samething. He's worried about the size of the pack. [emoji115] This is a nice way of saying you don't understand what we are talking about [emoji2]

If that is the max per generated out of the alternator, I would start with 500whr battery pack.
