Another XV750 Cafe Build...how original, right?

Long time no post but the bike is basically done. Still have to fine tune the carbs, get a shorter front brake line, and get some blinkers. Overall very happy with the final product.

Yeah I figured as much. Thanks for the heads up on the liner. It looks terrible in there so I'm hoping it cleans out alright...

Another XV750 Cafe Build...how original, right?

Thanks! It's my first ever build of this magnitude by myself. First ever bike, and IMO no where near where yours will end up. But hey, we all have to learn somehow. The tank has had a lot of love given to it already - new filler neck welded on, few random pieces ground off etc. If you look...

The tail light is one thing that had to be right. My uncle who was helping me had originally put it in line with the subframe, but it just didn't look right IMO. Goal is to get the bike finished for summer riding. I just finished rebuilding the carbs. Things left to do: - paint tank/seal...

    XV920R - Fat and Low

Damn that looks good. I stuck with the Benelli remake and can attest to its issues. Haven't finished fixing them all yet... I really, really wanted a Hageman subframe but couldn't justify the coin. Ended up with a Twigg TT frame - wish I would have just built one myself in the end.

Thanks. It's been an awefully slow process, but hoping to pick up speed again.

Another XV750 Cafe Build...how original, right?

I decided to ditch the stock tank and to use a Benelli Mojave replica off of eBay. Overall, I'm happy with the tank (I guess). I had heard some horror stories about this tank not being symmetrical and having some leaking/pinhole issues. It is pretty well made, with a few questionable spots. The...

82 Virago 750 Cafe Racer (Done!)

Re: 82 Virago 750 Project Cafe Maybe I missed it (actually I'm too lazy to go and re-read the mere 8 pages again), but what did you do for jetting with the new 2-1 exhaust and the open air filter? Bike looks awesome by the way. Very well done.

82-83 XV750 Yamaha Virago Cafe Subframe

I'm looking to sell my Twig TT subframe that I have recently purchased. I've decided that I want to weld together one myself and am just looking to get what I paid for it - roughly $330 shipped to my door from Austrailia. If it doesn't sell, I guess I'll still use it. I have ONLY BOLTED it on to...

Another XV750 Cafe Build...how original, right?

Longggggggg overdue update here! It's been over a month! Since my last post I have done quite a bit - and also not very much (more on that later). So for starters! I have replaced the #2 idler gear which was quite worn on the one side. I also replaced the spring and the two "brake" clips that...

Lol. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice that. It was only on there loosly, and that's how the cable was pushing it. It is all good now. The plan is to have them make a shorter one eventually.

Just got notification that the Motolanna seats I want are in stock so I ordered one of those before they sold out again. Hopefully it gets here soon so I can build the subframe and make it to Rockerbox with a semi-built bike.
