Bugger. I even took the wire brush to it on the weekend and it seemed to do nothing to it. I would take you up on your offer if I wasn't on the other side of the world. Gonna have to look out for some of that paint stripper too. This place is great for info and ideas. I be lost without it

Coming along nicely. How did you strip the chrome from the fenders? I have some chrome rims that are flaking and I want to strip them to get em painted black.

Got a bit done today, pulled the engine out and the frame is now down to just the wheels. I have a bucketload of ziplock bags with bolts and bits in em in a box. Hopefully I can decipher it all during reassembly. :-\ I've got some hefty cleaning to do on the engine tho. Also have done...

If I can get my hands on replacements they will be going for sure. I have to get replacement forks too since it isn't a straight swap due to caliper position and disc size. Are you in US? I am in Australia and it'd be waaay cheaper for you to get em from someone in the US I reckon.
