Re: Haddock's first Café build - CB550
Almost done for this season.
Since the pictures, I have put the Honda logo back on the tank. Painted matt black.
Hi again.
I pulled the slow jets out today. Found out that it was a size 42
My spark plug looks like this after a have driven the bike for some hours.
Should I go up some sizes in jets?
I'm just bringing this topic up again.
Does somebody know where to find slow jets for the Keihin PD46 carburators?
Would love it, if I could find some from Europe.
Re: Haddock's first Café build - CB550
Today was a good day.
Got the biked fired up after 6 months. The new wiring harness seem to work as it should.
I've got the hoop welded last week, and my seat came back from the upholstrer.
Here is some quick pictures from today.
Small vid of the...
Argh. Something is not right. The bike starts if i turn the key, but when i release the key, the power disapears. My guess is when i turn the key one time there should be power, but there isnt.
Help please.
From ground and ignition.
Please let me know if anything is wrong here. :)
Sidequestion: My new ignition with turn-start have three poles (ST, IG, B), and no manual, and since english isn't my naitive language I'm afraid og connecting it wrong. What goes where?
I've redone the harness completely with new wires all around, and just a main fuse. So I ended up with these wires left that I didn't know what to do with.
I've tossed the left control switch. So is it correct that I won't need them?
Wuhu! Almost done with the wireing. I'm pretty sure that is the last time i'll ever touch the wire harness on a bike again. What a mess!
I have one more question.
I have decided to keep the right hand control switch, but there is two wires coming from it i'm nut sure what is for.
The...
Thank for your help so far, I have learned a LOT about wire harness already, and decided to start today - not the easiest thing I found out. :)

Thank you!
I have made the changes into the diagram now, but since I'm gonna remove the high/low beam control switch, what are I'm gonna do with the three wires going into the switch?
Finally I got some time for the old Honda.
I've bought a bunch of extra connectors, some sleeving, yellow and green wire, so I think i'm almost ready.
Now my question is about the wireing diagram.
I've got this diagram so far:
I have removed the high beam, the tachometer and the signals...
Re: Haddock's first Café build - CB550
Yo guys.
I'm gonna need some help.
Since I'm gonna redo the wire harness, and have to weld the rear loop. I'm thinking about tearing the bike down, and remove everything including the engine.
How hard is it to remove the engine, for a first timer...
