Lol, no that is my dad in the pic; I dont have a garage plus it is nice to spend the time wrenching with him. He is a wood worker and I am the mecanic, between us we do have all the tools though.
Motor is out of the frame and I have media blasted the swingarm but powder coat has been delayed...
I would have to say JRK5892's 350 looks nothing like a Carpy Creation but will still be a sweet scoot. I see nothing wrong with seeking the wisdom of someone that has the experience that Carpy does, pick his brain and keep the sweet rides coming.
P.S. I have wanted to do a rootbeer flake bike...
Sweet! Another Michigan Cafe guy!! I am in Dryden (just north of Oxford) and I am building a CB750, so is Johnny5 (Port Huron) We should get together all of the Michigan guys this spring for a ride.
I have a 73 CL350 that I have almost sold a few times but after seeing your bike I think I may...
"Found it on the side of the road" ... I grew up in the inner city, I know what that means. That somebody lost a perfectly good cement saw LOL. Keep the pics coming I am dying for more 750 cae pics.
Oooohhh another 750 build!!!! MORE PICS, MORE DETAIL c'mon I need my fix!! My project is still in the early stages and I love seeing these things come together. Sweet bike!!!!
I am thinking I will hold out for the powdercoat, my bike has been through several transformations but this is its final incarnation (sure it is). Might as well do it right so it lasts; while I will probibally make minor changes over time I do not see any of them being to the frame.
I have my frame and swingarm all ready for their new finish, I had planned on powder coat but bills, kids, and bills have really hit my wallet hard lately did I mention bills? Anyway I am slightly tempted to paint the frame and swingarm to keep this project moving but am concerned with its...
Okay I am convinced, I will stick with my current setup. God am I glad there are no more expensive mishaps, I work in the Auto Industry in Michigan so needless to say money is tight to the second power and I still need to get her together by spring.
My vote was for the 750, I am building a 74 right now. I have a CL350 as well but I like the 750 for its versatility; great top end and no issues on the freeway. Parts are VERY available and when you lighten them up they are a really fun bike to ride.
In the end go with what fits you and your...
Sounds like good news, anyone else that can verify this? I think I remember reading somewhere that tubeless tires are not rated to hold up to the same heat as tube type tires (heat due to the added friction of the two pieces of rubber moving against eachother). If I can run em this way I am good...
Today I was looking over my parts and supplies for my Cafe project and noticed something a bit troubling;
Stainless front and rear spokes - Check
New Harley 16" drop center rear wheel - Check
Clean 19" Front Wheel - Check
New Maxxis Rubber - Che... Oh great the tires say TUBELESS they were not...
