I test fitted the tail section and decided I didn't like the way it looked(too big), so I made another one today.
Here's a rough idea of how it will look on the bike.
The engine got a little taller today, but I still have to set all my timing and adjust my valves/points before I close it all up. I also need to beadblast and repaint all the side covers so they match(they are bolted up right now so I can set the crank position and make sure my clutch was working).
Painted some more parts today, the other half is still in the oven baking. Still waiting on the head gasket, but the motor is about 80% done at this point.
Re: Project 'Annabel Lee'
I used duplicolor engine paint with the clear coat over top, and i think it looked pretty good. I don't know if they have a flat silver though, there are quite a few colors to choose from.
I've got some updates so i'm going to put a couple days worth in this post
Tore down the motor the rest of the way and did some light cleaning today. I've been on EBay looking for the parts I need to replace from the oil starvation, hopefully I will get the whole top end i am watching right...
Make sure you don't run the bike too lean with that paint, I had mine done with the same stuff and it yellowed/bubbled on the head when I was playing with my carbs.
