    New bike

Hello! I'm not new to the forum but I haven't been here in a spell, and with a completely new bike and mindset, I figure I'd reintroduce myself. I picked up this gem for a great price, free. It's a 98 Seca II with 2181 original miles. One setback...no title. The P/O left the bike at the...

kz is rolling, xs is 6 feet under

Well, if anyone remembers, I took a big chance on a title-less KZ1000 a while back. Im very happy to say she is breathing fire once again and terrorising my neighborhood. With that said my first bike, an XS400 project gone south, will be parted and sold offdue to a bent frame. That bike led...

    Midnight Sake Run

Soo I found a cheap titled frame for my 1000, while im waiting for it to come in I decided to take her up my road tonight. I just gave the carbs a good cleaning and id like to check my effort. Out i go. Warmed up, going along at 40 in third, I want to open her up. She coughed and sputtered...

What weight oil are you using?

Dino oil contains parafin (read: candle wax) and will lead to deposits (sludge/grime) within any engine when used. The ONLY advantage there is its less prone to leaking because the semi-porus gasket material or un-lapped metal surfaces will clog with said parafin. There is NO way to completely...

    It's alive, alive!

Dr. J, that soft tissue is slowly turning into rock hard, bad ass, vintage oriented, biker tissue.

Paint is drying on my tank

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I used tape to make the stripe but I free handed the silver. Tonight I will tape it again and fix the silver. I just have two questions: What kind of tape should i use on the red paint? I REALLY dont want it to peel up Will flat black still be flat if...

Paint is drying on my tank

Just finished painting my tank tonight and I have discovered two very important things: a. Flat black with a metallic flake red stripe edged in bright silver pin-stripes has to be one of the most beautiful combinations I've ever seen. and b. I can't pin-stripe for shit. Kinda bumed after...

    Turn signal opinions

HUGE thanks to Rudy for the custom 'glassed seat. Anyway Im debating on rear turn signals. I have a set of surface mount euro looking side markers, or some stalks i could put on. Sorry for the grainy pics, also the whole seat/cowl will be covered in black vinyl. Im torn between the two. I...

    Whiskey Cafe informal Show-n-Shine

I know we're all few and far between but apparently this is a huge gathering in New Jersey. Whiskey Cafe 1050 Wall Street West Lyndhurst NJ 07071 Huge car and motorcycle gathering every Saterday night during the summer. I just found out about it so I will roll out there when it starts again...

    Picked up the KZ

Just got it this morning. Calling her a pig is an understatement. All the chrome is rusty, no taillight or rear signals mounted. Questionable wiring (signals dont blink period, no neutral light), the intake boots leak, has those ugly ass big foam bar grips. The starter is staying engaged...

Sully's Garage Episode 2. Hammering Gas Tank Indents on a CB750

Hell yeah! I didnt intend the indents to be so large but it flows nicely now i think. The original was about two inches shorter in the front but a nice tap caused a big jump. Deadblows are your best friend, the mallet i used still made some marks. Cant wait to get the seat!

Sully's Garage Episode 2. Hammering Gas Tank Indents on a CB750

Yea it looks great.  Ill be stripping it back down and smoothing it bondo later today.  If it looks decent ill try and throw up some pics tomorow.  Id love to see yours when its done.  Will you make the edges of the indent sharp? (squared off?)  or flow them into the rest of the tank?  Ill make...

Sully's Garage Episode 2. Hammering Gas Tank Indents on a CB750

You inspired me man. I went out, got the same hammer and whaled on my tank. She looks pretty gnarly now. Definitely makes an impact on the café look. Thanks for the write-up.
