Like the title says, where can I buy a non-cracked top fork bridge? I have a 1974 cb360 and a 1975 cb360 parts bike. Out of the two I have both are cracked in one place or another. So is there another bike that has a similar fork bridge that I can use on my bike?
Thanks,
Joel
Could that seal be that tight on that thing, keeping this case from letting go of the shaft? I know the seal around the kick start shaft was kinda sorta tight, but nothing like this cover
Qawls you have a better starting platform than I did. But it seems we are in the same boat just taking it slow and becoming familiar with a motorcycle engine. This is my first motorcycle teardown, it's different than the cars and trucks I'm used to.
I think I'm gonna try what my shop recommended. Put a pipe on the end of the shifter shaft and heat the shaft up in between the case and the block (not getting crazy with heat) and try to bend it back some. Does anyone see anything wrong with this?
Rich Ard I didnt have my motor with me at the time(since this shop is rarely open). His advice was a pipe and some heat.
And I think my terminology may be wrong but I have never hit this shaft with a BFH
But when the "gear selector" was on this shaft^ I did try to move the gear selector up...
Well with a little work done today I popped the jugs off and the cylinders have no scores or ring at the top but they will need honed. Also the rings on the sized piston are sized in the ring lands, any tips on getting these out without tearing up a piston?
I've thought about cutting it, but then I will have to find another one. And the places I have looked said they were discontinued. And I'm not sure if any other shifter shafts will work on the 360's
From what I can see the shifter shaft appears to be bent closer to the front of the bike. Like I said before I believe the bike has been laid down. On the left side of the bike
If your talking about spraying it and soaking it with pb blaster or wd-40 I've already done that. More than once. I apologize for not understanding what you meant.
Whats putting the screws back in gonna do? And I'll put some heat to it, along with taking some pics.
And once I pull the cylinders off ill flip it over and pull the trans case and see if there is anything binding up in there.
Thats a good bit of information! Im glad I only hit it maybe five times total. Alpha do you have any hints or tricks on getting this thing off? I've stuck wood in there, sprayed the shifter with PB Blaster where the shaft goes through the cover. Pry bars on top and bottom trying to break it...
