    1965 cb160 frame question

Thanks for the info. I plan on doing a custom build and would like to do rear sets. I thought the rear pegs looked like they could be adapted and look better than some new fancy aluminum ones at least for my plans for the bike. My only plans for the motor are e-ignition, pods, and the exhaust I...

I've considered going that route. Can you point me towards some more info?

    1965 cb160 frame question

Thanks that's what I thought. I'll try to straighten it with some heat. That's how the bike looked when I got it. Now it's completely stripped down

    1965 cb160 frame question

I just picked up this cb160 and I'm in the process of tearing it down to restore. While working on the swing arm I saw this and it doesn't look right but I thought I'd ask some people who know more. The tube that the rear brake lever rides on has a slight bend to the rear like possibly the lever...

    Sl100 steampunk build

Yep. It used to control the kill switch but I was at liberty one Sunday with the custom car guys and I made the mistake of letting a little kid play around with stuff on my bike. Whistle, switches,... And he grabbed that knob and wrenched on it like a water bib. Now it just spins freely. Luckily...

    Sl100 steampunk build

Thanks. My brother is big in the hot rod community so I can ask if he could locate another. Most plates are pretty used so I was lucky to get a new one.

Fairly easy. I used 4" exhaust tubing but I think you can get up to 6" and maybe bigger, and whatever length you want.

I have all the stock parts. However I'm trying to keep them. I doubt I will ever take it back to original but someone may.

    Sl100 steampunk build

The handle comes off easily but the other part is the chimney so It would leave a hole if removed. I originally had the handle off but put it back on mainly because it was designed to be removed from the buggy/horseless carriage and could be carried like a lantern. I actually considered making...

    Sl100 steampunk build

I ride this bike every where I can. Work, store, car shows, etc. It's a blast to ride and always draws a crowd. The plating and painting is definitely a consideration.

    Sl100 steampunk build

Funny. They do look like different shocks but they are the same. I think:) I'll take more pictures soon. Im adding a couple parts, better looking clutch/brake levers and im working on a steam whistle that will have a hand valve and will be powered by the exhaust. I do have a couple pics with...

    Sl100 steampunk build

It was my brothers friend that gave me the bike and it was my brother that gave me the finishing piece, a brand new never mounted 68-72 license plate.

Here is the complete bike with the new seat. I used the same leather to wrap the handle bars and added a piece of patina sheet metal mud flap/splash guard. And of course I had to modify the key.
