Unfortunately my bike known to me personally as "Arthur", and others as a 78 GS1000E has the unfortunate rarity of being one of the models with only a single disc up front. I'm converting to dual floating rotors but would like to keep the look of the original forks with them just being rebuilt...
May have to take your advice there. Figured this wouldn't be an issue with the reputation DCC has. They assured me ppl had successfully done it before.
thanks for the response! No i'll be mounting the seat to the DCC universal cafe seat mounting kit. So most likely i'll be taking an angle grinder to the stock hinges. So the seat pan will be a new nice flat seat pan which i'll then be mounting the seat to somehow. Alas the seat is already...
Seat will be here in 4 days, though their site says "*Chrome snaps are rivets, the cover is not removable and must be taped off for painting." so i'm assuming it literally isn't a snap and rather is just riveted into the ABS/glass. I'll have to inspect closer when i see it. The velcro idea for...

I bought the Dime City Cycles universal seat mount kit that comes with a seat pan. Trying to just get the seat on without damaging it as it already has padding leather riveted on. Any ideas would be appreciated! I've heard of guys using industrial velcro to mount seats to seat pans with success...
could you elaborate on what you mean by cut and splice? Keep in mind I would really like to keep the seat intact. I've no problem with doing more than just bolting on and being done with it but that's sort of the point of Dime City Cycle's kit so that you don't have to do any welding. My...
I'm trying to use the DCC universal seat mount and the "bugeye seat" I just ordered with one slight issue. The seat already has padding and is riveted on. How would I go about attaching this seat without having to cut apart anything to bolt it down to the seat pan??. I've reached out to Chris...
